Fotor0817114725new lush products haulRecently Lush have just brought out their summer collection! So, keen to have a look, I grabbed some from the new collection, alongside some of my trusty regular favourites, to talk about for you guys today.new lush products first impressionsFrozen bath bomb lushFrozen Bath Bomb | “Do you want to have a bath bomb? Do you want to splash and play?” This bath bomb, much like the movie it’s based on, is utterly mesmerising. With the uplifting scent of grapefruit oil, combined with the inside packed with silver glitter, when having a bath with this bath bomb; you really will let everything go. (I think this would be a favourite for Evie and Ruby, my cousins!)Intergalactic bath bomb lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb | This bath bomb is very quietly creeping into my favourite bath bomb spot. With it’s name, and a description of “Ever wondered what bathing in deep space would be like? Invite the cosmos into your bathroom with this sexy, interstellar bomb and become the guardian of your own galaxy.” This bath bomb caters to many of my greatest loves. It’s colourful, galaxy-themed and smells like peppermint.rose jam bubble bar lushRose Jam Bubbleroon | Do you want to feel as though you’ve just been moisturised from the heavens and given a bunch of flowers? Then this is the bubbleroon for you. Essentially a bubble bar, but shaped like a macaroon, these bubbleroons are absolutely adorable and pampering. With rose oil and cocoa butter, this bubble bar is a real self-indulgent treat.

Jason and the argan oil shampoo bar lushJason & The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar | I’ve loved this shampoo bar since I was first recommended it by a friend. This product might just solve all of your dry hair problems. Replacing shampoo, it foams up when you’re in the shower, and you simply apply like a regular shampoo. The argan oil (one of my favourite ingredients for anything hair-related) is insanely good for hair that needs a touch of moisture. Although I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with fine hair as it can tend to weigh it down a little.

creamy candy bubble bar lushCreamy Candy Bubble Bar | Another one of my previous favourites. Unfortunately this one has lost it’s signature flower, but that doesn’t mean it’s lost any of it’s softening powers. With vanilla, cocoa butter and almond oil it really is a treat for your skin. And of course I’m going to mention how it smells like the sweetest candy, don’t worry, I didn’t forget.

So there are some of the new products from Lush’s summer collection, along with some of my trusty favourites! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know if you’re going to try any products from the new www.lush.co.uk range!

Ombré Hair Care Routine

As we all know, having ombré hair is very damaging, you are applying bleach, the most harmful chemical, directly onto the most delicate and easily damaged part of your hair. Without proper hair care, this style can cause nothing but split ends and brassiness. So here’s a little run through of the products that I use on my hair to keep it healthy and manageable.

IMAG2219

So as I said, bleaching the ends of your hair will make them very dry and brittle, so you’ll need not only a good conditioner, but a great shampoo to prevent your hair from drying out any more. I use the Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner to ‘revitalise dry hair’, and I also have a Creighton’s blonde extra moisturising shampoo in case my hair is feeling dry and in need of a boost. Other products that I would recommend would be any violet based shampoo, as they balance out the colour of blonde hair to keep it from looking brassy.

IMAG2222 The next most important thing for ombré hair is to give it a treat every once in a while. This Oz Botanics Major Moisture deep conditioner is amazing. I would recommend using a deep treatment on your hair once every two weeks because if you use it too often, it’ll just weigh your hair down and leave if feeling greasy, if you don’t use it often enough the blonde ends will simply break off.

IMAG2226Finally, something I will always take very seriously is heat defence. If you’ve already bleached your air, and you continue on to style it with heat and you don’t protect it, you are doing it no favours, as it will just result in it breaking and frizzing. I use Argan Oil leave in spray before I blow dry and style my hair, and then once it’s dry, Vitapointe leave in conditioner to the ends of dry hair, This stuff is a miracle, just apply a tiny drop to the very ends of your hair and it leaves it sleek and shiny.

Those are all of the products I use for my hair! Do you have ombré hair? Are you thinking about having it done? Or would you recommend another product that is great for ombré? Let me know in the comments!

January Favourites

We are officially nearing the end of January! So I thought it to be quite apt for me to share with you, the products that I’ve been loving this month. I’ve kept things quite simple because otherwise we’d all be here for a very long time and nobody wants that. So here we go!

January Favourites

The Products:

Katy Perry’s Meow Perfume | This is such a light, cotton candy-esque scent, that I have adored since my friends bought it for me for my 17th birthday. It’s a really girly bottle (and shaped like a cat, so it’s one of the most amazing bottles ever), and the scent itself isn’t much different. I just really like this scent for this late winter/early spring time because we are moving away from the common autumnal/winter, warmer scents like gingerbread, pumpkin pie, and Yankee Candles Roast Turkey and Stuffing, and into the slightly cooler, fresher scents of spring. This perfume will have you excited for daffodils.

Argan Oil Heat Defence Leave in Spray | Now if you like to style your hair with heat, you are doing your hair a massive disservice if you are not preparing it to handle that heat. Your hair doesn’t tap you on the shoulder and tell you that it is being damaged while you’re styling it, it waits until you’ve done enough damage and simply starts to break off. So I beg of you, USE A HEAT DEFENCE SPRAY. So since we’re on the topic, this product. This product, with moroccan argan oil extract, works absolute wonders on your hair. In it’s own words, it is “Hydrating, Nourishing and Cleansing.” All you have to do is shake it and spray it generously through the main body of your hair, making sure to focus on the ends and away from the roots. Just get this spray, your hair will thank you later.

Imperial Leather’s Moisturising Face and Hand Wash | This may seem like a strange thing to include in my favourites, but if you suffer from dry skin from time to time, you’ll wonder what you were using before this product. While it can be used as just a liquid hand soap, when used in conjunction with your night time skin routine, after removing your makeup and before applying your moisturiser, this face wash is gentle on skin, containing almond oil and vitamin E. It leaves your skin not only feeling clean and makeup free, but hydrated. Preparing it to be even more grateful than usual for your evening moisturiser.

Lush’s Fresh Hair booklet | I picked this up on my way out of a short trip into Lush a few weeks ago with my pals, just because there was a stack of them to be honest. But oh my was I in for a great surprise! This handy little book not only details all of Lush’s new products, (I’m a particular fan of the Shampoo bars, you can get up to 40 washes out of one AND they are said to boost growth!) But it is filled with little tips and tricks to revive dry hair, tame unruly flyaways and how to eat right to improve the condition of your hair. (And it’s free!)

New products

Mua’s Mega Volume Mascara | This mascara does exactly what it says on the tin (or in this case, mascara box?…) It is just not possible to be wasteful with this mascara, just a few flicks of the wand and you are good to go! Hands down, the longest  and fullest any mascara has ever made my lashes look.

Collection’s Work the Colour in shade #22 ‘Lilac Daze’ | I’ve been on the lookout for a lilac nail varnish for what feels like an eternity now, so when I saw this one on sale I just grabbed it because it was a pretty shade. I have since been entirely converted to Collection Cosmetics. This varnish has a really good pigmentation, meaning I needed only 2 coats and I had the gorgeous lilac nails that I had been craving. Not to mention this brand has incredible lasting power, only showing slight signs of chipping after 6 days of wear.

Rimmel London’s Moisture Renew Lipstick in shade #360 ‘As You Want Victoria’ | Coming out of the winter months I have been adoring this lipstick. It’s incredibly pigmented, has great lasting power, only needing to be retouched after a good couple of hours and it’s moisturising! No need to be applying any other than this to your lips, it feels and looks, amazing. This shade is a girly pink but also dark and striking enough that it can be a statement on it’s own, with a simple cat-eye and nude eyeshadow tones.

Rimmel London’s Glam Eyes Liquid Liner | My. favourite. product of. all. time. This liner applies so easily. The thin brush means it lasts longer than other liquid liners, and miles longer than eyeliner pens; which tend to be much thicker, meaning your line can be too thick and you have the hassle of thinning it out and making it match the other eye. I have fallen in love with this liquid liner and I don’t see myself ever trying another brand.

That’s it from me, let me know in the comments below what you’ve been loving this month, I’d love to hear what products you’re using!
