So it’s perfect for just lounging around in, or wearing to school or university.

These mustard coloured button down skirts are everywhere, in every store and every autumn trend, so I’d definitely recommend picking one of these up! Also this look has a slightly different element from most usual autumnal looks, because instead of thick black tights, I’ve matched them to the grey of my top. Patterned tights are always cute to wear with skirts, and these keep you super warm too!

That’s it for my Autumnal Lookbook, let me know which of these looks was your favourite! Do you have any go-to style tips for the colder autumn weather?

5 Free Printables & Facebook Page Announcement

Every now and then we can all do with a personal mantra, or just some words to settle and reassure us. So today I created 5 printables with some quotes that I love, all for different situations.

quote3 I adore this quote because it’s to the point, punchy and sassy. Any time I’m feeling a little bit down, or if someone in particular is getting you down, either because of the present or the past, I love being reminded that how we feel is up to us. Your self-perception and confidence is all determined and can only be changed by you. And as I like wearing makeup, (even if my drink of choice is Fanta…) this one feels great for me.

quote2 This quote entirely speaks for itself. Never do anything that you don’t absolutely love. You can always stop. Speak up and stay true to yourself and your preferences.Don’t waste a second of your life half-invested in something.

quote1 Again, this quote has no grey area. Personally I have never been very good at dealing with change. But as soon as I internalised this saying and stopped questioning the why of everything, life becomes so much easier. As humans, we are all constantly searching for the why in every event, but if we simply accept that everything happens for a reason, but some of these reasons may not be immediately evident, it doesn’t matter. Just embrace it and move on.

quote5 I love this quote because it reminds me that none of us are in this alone. Yes, there will always be people who appear worse off than you, and there will always be people who seem better off. But the reality is, you never truly know what another person is going through, because we cannot experience life from their eyes and with their thoughts. So therefore the best thing to do is to just be kind.

quote4And finally I love this quote because it doesn’t delve too deeply into life or emotions, it’s just a great little mantra to have whenever you’re shopping or getting dressed. All too often to place importance on what other people think and what other people are doing, and in the meantime we lose who we are and what we like. So this is just a more fun, confidence based quote to keep in mind if you’re having a down day, or questioning what to wear based on what others are wearing, or what they might say.

And that’s it! Those are just a select few of some of my favourite quotes that I like to keep in mind on a regular basis. Do you have a personal mantra? I’d love to hear it, so let me know in the comments!

I’ve also created a Facebook page that you can like, if you would like to do so! This way you can stay up to date with Organic By Nerve, and get in touch with me if you’d like to request a post, or collab!

Current Mood/Inspirations

Today I thought I’d try something completely different and out of the ordinary for me and this blog, so I took some time to create a mood-board. This mood-board is to me, a representation of me, things I love, stuff I like, and things I stand for.

Obviously most of this is self-explanatory, but I did want to lightly touch on the message “When it rains look for rainbows When it’s dark look for stars.”

As soon as I saw this quote, it instantly resonated with me. All too often I feel like we’re all looking for something, but we’re either not in the right place for it, it’s not the right time, etc. Once I saw this quote a lot of things made sense. Of course we’re all looking for things, things that we can never seem to attain; but what if we simply changed our perspective? That’s what this quote says to me, adjust your goals and mindset, based on your perspective. That way you’ll always find what you’re looking for.

I may make these mood-boards a monthly feature, but also, I may not. We’ll see where the wind takes us people.

I hope you enjoyed this mood-board post! If you did be sure to let me know!

Get Ready For Summer & Essentials

Exams are all finally coming to a close, and summer is getting closer by the minute! So today I am sharing with you guys, some of my summer essentials!DSCN0691

So obviously for summer, you need to be more concious about what your makeup is doing for your skin. I use a moisturiser with an SPF of 15, and if you wear foundation, I’d recommend one like Rimmel’s Wake Me Up, which also has an SPF of 15.

The next essential is obviously deodorant! I opt for a 48 hour one, because during the summer you don’t want to have to constantly apply it, but you also don’t want to go without it, so I would recommend keeping an eye out for specifically 24-48 hour ones especially if you’ll be camping, and going to festivals.DSCN0681

Another essential that is geared toward low-maintenance and festival go-ers is John Freida’s Frizz-Ease 3 day straight. Just spray this onto damp hair, before you dry and straighten it, and your hair will remain frizz-free and straight for up to 3 days!

Sunglasses are an obvious must-have for summer time, without a question. You can even choose some reflective ones that not only shelter your eyes, but look awesome in pictures!

My next essential is a travel-friendly bottle. You’ve got to keep hydrated if you’re sitting out in the sun, or just generally travelling around, so I purchased a Sistema bottle that you can completely close, so you’re not at risk of any leaks in your bag.

And a cute little backpack, so you can have everything with you on the go! Finally, for me, nothing is easier and more suited fashion-wise, for summer, than a playsuit or a dress!DSCN0672

Also, some not-quite-essentials, but I think summer is the perfect time for light and bright colours on your nails, so I’m loving Maybelline’s Colour Show 60 second nail varnish in absolute white. This brand dries so quickly, they’re perfect for summer when you don’t want to spend ages on your nails but still want them to look cute, just paint and go! And also a cute headband, it’s perfect for if you don’t want to do any intricate styles with your hair, so if you’re a festival go-er nothing is better than headbands, dry shampoo and braids!

Those are my summer essentials, I hoped you guys enjoyed! Let me know in the comments below what your summer essentials are.

How To Style: Black Skater Skirt

HTSFor me, there is one staple that anyone that likes to wear dresses or skirts should have; and that’s a black skater skirt.

Every time I went into a shop, I’d be scouring the rails looking for the perfect versatile skirt that I could wear with anything. I had many skirts and dresses already, but they all had other pieces that they went well with, and not much else. And then I found it. A black skater skirt. Now it is my number one recommendation to anyone, it’s great if you love skirts and would love another, and it’s great if you’re not sure whether or not you could match it with other items in your wardrobe, because it goes with just about anything.

So today I though I’d share with you guys 4 different ways that I would style a black skater skirt.

crop

1. with a crop top – you can pair any colour crop top you like and a pair of flats. This outfit is best suited for the warmer weather of the summer because otherwise you are gonna freeze. Put a cardigan over it, and it could also be a nice outfit for an evening meal.

Black Flats, F&F £6

2. with a smart tucked in shirt – I would put black tights and heels with this outfit, and it’d be perfect for going out if you don’t want to commit to anything too sparkly.

Utility Blouse, F&F £14

Black Lace Up Heels, New Look £25

3 . with a collared shirt and jumper – this outfit it quite office/uniform inspired and suitable if you have wardrobe requirements that you have to stick to.

Purple jumper, Papaya £14

stripes

4. with a patterned long sleeved top – this outfit it cute and flirty and it doesn’t look too overboard if you’re pairing the skirt with a pattern or stripes, because the black keeps it classic.

Striped Long Sleeve Top, F&F £9
