BLOGMAS Day 10 // Winter Pampering Essentials

Hey guys! As the weather is so harshly changing, it’s cold, dark and a little bit dreary, I think that now is the perfect time for me to share my essentials for having a luxury Winter pamper night!Winter Pamper Essentials (1)So naturally, what is a pamper night without a bath? Insane. That’s what a pamper night without a bath is. I didn’t remember to take a picture of my bath, but I used Lush’s Magic Of Christmas bubble bar, as you can see I mentioned it in my Winter & Christmas Lush Haul. (And I would highly recommend it, as it provided a huge amount of bubbles, and left me smelling of cinnamon.)

So while you’re running your bath, this is when I remove my makeup and do a quick cleanse, so that while I’m in the bath my skin can breathe and fully appreciate the, yes you guessed it, face mask. I have really been loving cucumber face masks because it’s cooling and soothing, which is great at combating the harshness that your skin encounters with the cold outdoors and the central heating indoors.

Next it’s all about relaxing, enjoying the bath (perhaps with some Family Guy on my tablet, I’m not denying it.) Then using a body scrub, so that your skin can really be softened by the bath, leaving you feeling like a brand new person.Winter Pamper Essentials (2)Once you’re out of the bath, the next thing I like to do is moisturise. Lately I’ve been really loving the original Zoella Beauty scent, so the Creamy Madly Dreamy is my one of my favourite moisturisers to use once I’m out of the bath, for my body alongside Soap & Glory’s The Righteous Butter, and a little bit of Babylips to moisturise my lips.

After that, I use a hand cream, because this time of year can be quite drying on the hands, one that I really enjoy is Hand Food by Soap & Glory, because it’s not too heavy, so it dries relatively quickly, and it smells amazing. Then finally moisturising my face, with Nivea Sensitive, I’ve been gravitating towards the day cream more often lately, because the night cream can be too heavy and clog my pores.

I also really like to do my nails after a bath on a pamper night, but you can read all about that in detail on my Best Pamper Night Of All Damn Time post!

That’s it for my Winter Pamper Night Essentials, let me know how you pamper yourself at this time of year in the comments!

Six Small Steps To Happiness

Sometimes it can be quite difficult remaining positive when facing a lot of things that life throws at you. But something we often forget is that how we are feeling, is ultimately determined by us.

That’s right.

Something that has always resonated with me since I heard it is,

“No one can make you feel anything without your permission.”Steps To HappinessYup. At the end of every day, we all have the choice on how we look back on it. We can choose to see only the negatives, or we can choose to see the small acts of understanding and kindness that we witnessed.

But I also understand that some days it can be more difficult than others to simply ‘see the good’. So I’ve compiled a little list of things that you can incorporate into your daily routine to help you find it easier to remain upbeat and positive.

Sleep | Having a somewhat fixed sleeping schedule does both your body and mind wonders. If you’re well rested, you’re less likely to feel negative, and if you’re getting up earlier in the mornings, you’re leaving yourself more time to get things done and spend a bit of time for yourself, by having a nutritious breakfast or doing your hair/makeup.

Exercise | I know, I know. Reading that word in a list like this can be really annoying and useless. BUT you’ll be surprised with just how much more uplifted you feel during the day if you started out your day by doing some gentle exercise. This can be anything from walking to school/work, doing some light yoga, or simply reaching for the sky and then your toes once you’re out of bed. Just try to keep in touch with your body, listen to how you’re feeling, and don’t overlook anything.Steps To Happiness

Water | You best believe it. Yes, exercise is always followed by water in lists like these, but trust me, it really does you the world of good. Just get into the habit of packing yourself a water bottle in your bag, or having one next to your bed. If it’s there, you’re more likely to drink it, than having to make yourself a drink of anything else. Water is proven to improve your health, hair, skin and mood. No one has ever met an upbeat dehydrated person.

Organise | This will benefit you and your life in endless ways. If you treat yourself to a cute planner, and write down all of your plans, assignments, and appointments, you’ll feel a weight lifted off of your shoulders. Not only will you become more productive because you’ll learn to prioritise your plans, but you’ll find yourself setting time aside for just you, as you can see how hard you’re working.

Steps To Happiness
embrace the tiny cloud, be the tiny happy cloud

Pamper | I know it’s cliché, and it’s not for everyone, but having a night where you don’t do anything but stay in, watch your favourite shows/movies, and pamper yourself in whatever way you deem fit, be it a bath, just doing your nails, or styling your moustache (we can’t forget the boys, they need pampering too) can be so beneficial for your mood after all of the pampering.

Embrace Change | Start out small, nothing too intimidating or useless. Just a tiny act of complimenting someone, or smiling at someone. You’ll quickly find that if you try and make a small effort of thinking kinder thoughts, it’ll affect your actions, and your actions influence how the people around you treat you, it’s one massive cycle. When you think something nice about someone, tell them. You’ll be surprised with how much it’ll mean to them, and it’ll affect your thoughts in the future.

That’s it for my Six Small Steps To Happiness! I hope this post helped you out, even if it’s only a little bit! If you’ve got any life saving tips or advice, be sure to share them below, it could really help someone else out. Thank you guys for reading, see you next time!

The Best Pamper Night Of All Damn Time

We can all always benefit from a good pamper night. So today I’m taking you guys through the best pamper night of all-damn-time.

First things first, your attire. You’ve got to make sure you dress for the occasion. If you’re a girl, take. off. that. bra. There is absolutely no reason for you to still have it on for a pamper night, so remove that immediately. Next is a comfortable oversized shirt/pyjamas, anything that makes you feel cosy and relaxed. Then put your hair up, in any style you like, just so long as it’s out of your face, otherwise you’re going to have a mess with face masks/moisturising.

Now we move onto products and entertainment.

A big fluffy cushion | For putting your feet up, or resting your weary head, a big cushion is a must-have.

Soft blanket Again, a must-have. For feeling cosy and warm while watching tv, or wearing as a cape as you stroll to the freezer for an ice-cream.

Tablet/Phone | Whether you’re sharing your pamper night on social media, watching a movie, listening to music, or you’re just chatting to your friends.

Micellar water Just as important as bra-removal, makeup-removal. Pamper night is all about treating yourself and your skin, with a cleanse. I really recommend this particular micellar water because it’s 3 in 1, so you don’t need a strenuous cleansing routine, this even moisturises!

Face wash | The perfect thing for the aforementioned skin-cleanse. I use Garnier’s Gentle clarifying foam, because it clears impurities, clarifies skin, and removes any lingering makeup after you’ve removed it. But it’s still gentle on skin, meaning you won’t be left feeling scrubbed raw.

Bath bomb/bubble bar | Having a bath is always an essential when it comes to nights in and pamper nights. But on a pamper night you’ve really got to go all out, bubbles, bath bomb, candles and heck maybe even flower petals, because you freakin’ deserve it.

Night moisturiser Of course any moisturiser will do, but many overnight moisturisers have extra skin renewing benefits that regular ones don’t. As your skin repairs and renews itself overnight, you’ll be surprised with the difference if you moisturise before bed.

Hand cream | People all too often forget their hands when moisturising, so I’d say opt for a hand rescue cream for a pamper night.

Nail varnish | After moisturising your hands I think it’s always nice to treat yourself to a little mani-pedi. Plus having done your nails usually puts you out of action for a little while, so you’re almost forced to sit still and relax.

A suitable beverage | Whether you’re in a real need of a pamper night, and therefore your drink of choice is red wine, or you just want an accompanying comfort drink such as hot chocolate or tea, make sure you’re staying hydrated!

Candles | And finally, the best thing for setting the mood. I’m never more relaxed than when I can smell a Fresh Linen Yankee Candle. Pick your pamper nights signature scent, and away you go!

And that’s it for my pamper night recommendations, let me know if there is anything specific that you do when you’re having a pamper night!

Again, apologies for this post being released late last night, that WAS a fault, and I am still posting only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays!
