Hi guys! Just over a week ago I had a very last minute trip to London. While I was away, I kept taking pictures of everything, as every detail seemed to have its own beauty and charm. I think this is a perfect time of year to visit London, because it was chilly and everywhere was lit up with gorgeous twinkling lights, it was almost surreal.
Hey guys! I was tagged by the ever so lovely Egypt from AGirlNamedEgypt to do the ‘Around The World In Barely A Minute’ Tag, where you share where all of your readers are from!
I thought like this sounded like fun, but I wanted to add my own little twist on it, so I’ve added 20 travel-related questions to make this tag a little bit more fun.
So here’s my map, showcasing all of the places that my blog has readership. I’m quite proud, because this year I’ve already got new readers in countries that I hadn’t reached last year, like India and Brazil! (Shoutout to the readers from there!)
1. Where are you from in the world?
I’m from the UK
2. Do you prefer summer or winter? Why?
I prefer summer for sunbathing and not having to wear a coat, and winter for snow and having to wear a coat.
3. Summer or winter fashion?
The only seasonal change to my wardrobe is tights, scarf and a coat, so I have no preference.
4. Where is somewhere you would love to travel to?
5. Name your essential makeup items for the beach
Sunscreen, it’s the only essential, people.
6. Are you currently saving up for a trip?
I actually have some plans for a few trips in the background at the minute, it’s quite exciting.
7. Do you like/dislike travelling?
I tend to quite enjoy travelling, but I definitely like being at my destination more.
8. Name a place in the world you would love to shop.
Some kind of superstore that sells clothes, rilakkuma and makeup.
9. Who is your favourite beauty guru and where do they live?
I don’t really have a favourite, I tend to rely on my fellow blogging buddies for beauty advice, and they are based all over the world!
10. What accent in the world is your favourite to hear?
I don’t really have a general ‘favourite’ accent, but I do like Welsh and Irish accents.
11. Favourite city or country?
I have so many different favourites for different reasons, London for big city vibes, Santorini for relaxing, Tokyo for shopping, Paris for culture.
12. Travel accessory you always pack?
13. Preferred method of travel: planes, trains or automobiles?
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
14. Top 3 Travel items?
My phone, a book and my tablet
15. Hostel or hotel?
Depends on who I’m travelling with, I’m chill with either
16. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
I think I’m more likely to fall in love with a select few places, but occasionally discover new places.
17. Do you read up on your destination for culture, history or safety or do you wing it?
I usually just wing it
18. You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no option, where are you going?
Tokyo, no question
19. Beach holiday or travel/explore holiday?
I’m definitely more up for travelling/exploring holidays, I can visit a beach every summer but I can’t soak up the culture of another city every year.
20. To travel is to…
“Make a journey, typically of some length.”
That’s it for my own take on the ‘Around The World In Barely A Minute Tag’, I hope you guys enjoyed it!
Let me know in the comments your favourite/dream holiday destination!
Hey guys, as some of you may have already seen, about a month ago, I won a bag from LYDC! The competition was comprised of 10 random bags daily, so you don’t know which one exactly you’re winning. So when it arrived, I was so surprised at how big (and pretty) it was!
So since it was this bag that prompted me to write this post, I’ll give you guys a little run down of the bag itself. It is the ‘Hoppen Quilted Shoulder Bag’ in the colour wine by LYDC. It’s also available in navy and black. For me, it’s the perfect travel bag, because it’s got tonnes of space, and can be carried or worn as a shoulder bag!
So here we go with what’s in my travel bag!My Makeup | Obviously I’m not going to go particularly far without everything I use to paint my face fabulously on the daily. I also recently got this Ted Baker zip bag that I’m using as my new makeup bag, isn’t it just too beautiful?!Tech | My phone and headphones are again, obvious go-tos. But I like to pack both my in-ear headphones and my overhead ones because I like to switch between them during long journeys, and then whenever I’m on my phone or laptop because using one particular pair for an extended amount of time can really hurt my ears.
For longer journeys/stays I also like to bring my tablet, because I like to read and play games on a bigger screen. And my camera (fun fact, I actually pack my Canon Sx610 when I’m going away, but I couldn’t picture it because I haven’t charged my Nikon, so they had to switch places, top job Corinne.)Essentials | I always pack makeup remover because just because I’m not at home, doesn’t mean I can leave my makeup on overnight like a crazy person. A roll-on deodorant is my preferred choice of deodorant, I actually really like this one because it’s cucumber and green tea scented, so it smells really clean and fresh. I like to also take a hand cream with me because my hands can get dry during the colder months, and keeping them hydrated is always a good idea. Finally, I also like to keep a pack of gum on me and any kind of hair care treatment, most recently it’s V05’s ‘Smoothly Does It’ because it can be applied to wet hair as a heat protectant, or dry hair to smooth out frizz.
That’s it for what’s in my travel bag, have I missed out anything that would be the first thing you would pack? Let me know in the comments!
Hey guys! As I’m travelling a lot recently, and I feel like I’ve gotten my ‘Travel Essentials’ down to quite a fine art, I thought I’d share them with you today!Headphones | Definitely an essential for just about anyone, on any journey/trip. I like to take my overhead headphones with me, because they tend to not hurt my ears like in-ears can over an extended period of time.
Compact Mirror | This particular item really links to my makeup bag in particular, as sometimes it’s easier to touch up your makeup on the go, or somewhere where a larger mirror is not available. I recommend a compact because it’ll leave more room in your bag for more important items.
Perfume | This is more of an essential for me in particular, because I obviously like to take deodorant with me, but I like to have this little extra touch once I’ve gotten ready in the morning.
Makeup Bag Essentials
Eyelash Curler | Again, this might only be an essential for some people, but I like to have curled my lashes before applying mascara to them, as I find it helps them remain curled all day.
Eyeliner | This is just an everyday makeup essential for me, as I love any look that has winged liner. I couldn’t go anywhere without my trusty Collection Extreme Felt Liner.
Mascara | I think if you’re going for bare essentials when it comes to makeup, mascara is the way to go. This particular mascara is excellent for wearing while you’re travelling too, because it doesn’t fade or transfer throughout the day, even if you have a sneaky nap!
Eyebrow Pencil | I never saw this coming, but if one particular day I wasn’t able to fill in my eyebrows, I now wouldn’t wear any makeup at all, as I find it really completes my look.
Eyeshadow Pencil | I think that this is a really handy little trick if you plan on going out while you’re away. Instead of taking an entire palette, or even a compact trio, with the right brushes too, you’ll save yourself so much space (and the worry of your shadows cracking and crumbling by being bashed around while you’re travelling!) by instead taking a handy little eyeshadow pencil. Just apply this to your lids, and you can blend it with your finger.Lipbalm | Again, an everyday essential, but I find this is really handy when you’re travelling, and when you’re in a new place, because the change in environment can be harsh on your skin, and cause it to dry out.
Micellar Water | Now that micellar water is also available in handy travel sized bottles, there is absolutely no excuses for shoving a pack of makeup remover wipes in your bag. Just because you’re away from home doesn’t mean you have to abandon properly looking after your skin.
Charger | Absolute essential, no brainer. Phone, camera tablet, laptop, whatever tech you’re taking, ensure you have the right charger for it before you leave the house.
Purse | Again, no brainer. If you have a larger purse like I do, you can also keep essential travel documents in it, so they are always safe and to hand.Cotton Wool Pads | These really coincide with the micellar water.
Deodorant | Yet another no brainer, even if you are staying in a 5 star hotel, everyone takes deodorant with them when they’re travelling.
Moisturiser | I think this is an essential in relation to my point earlier, you can never be entirely sure with how you skin is going to react to being in a different environment.
Brush | Similarly, you can never be sure with how your hair is going to behave in a new place. (Humidity problems, anyone?) So I’d recommend taking a smoothing brush with you, so even if you throw your hair up in a messy bun or ponytail, it can still be sleek.
That’s it for my Travel Essentials post, I hope it helps you guys out if you’re going on a road trip any time soon! Let me know in comments if you are off anywhere exciting soon, and what essentials you’ll be taking with you!
