MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
I hope you’re all having an amazing day, doing whatever it is that your heart desires!
Remember that however much food you eat today, totally doesn’t count tomorrow, so make the most of that.
I hope you’ve enjoyed blogmas here for the past month, be sure to let me know what your favourite post of the month was in the comments.
Thank you guys so much for reading, liking and commenting throughout this series, I’ve really loved seeing your feedback! Now let’s all take the weekend off and meet back here at 5pm on Monday, yeah?
Hey guys! As we’re nearing the end of blogmas, I thought I would share with you all my experience with a bloggers secret santa!
So this year the lovely Lady Writes hosted a secret santa, and I couldn’t wait to get involved! Not only did I get paired up with a brand new blogger to discover and learn all about, but it meant that I would get an adorable little package from another blogger too!
So here’s what I got from my blogger secret santa! This card is just too adorable. I love that it’s fun and playful, and not your average Christmas card, so we’re already scoring the highest points, Santa. The gifts themselves are all so incredibly thoughtful and exactly what I love! Naturally, the selection of face masks immediately made me the living embodiment of the heart-eyes emoji. I’m a real sucker for face masks, and I recommend them to everyone, so having some more to add to my collection is amazing.Next there’s a real wink towards my love for doing my nails/nail art. Santa really got it right here too, the Maybelline Colour Show duo is actually something I’ve never seen before, but I am obsessed with them. And the Nail Design DIY Stamp Kit is so unique, I can’t wait to play around with it and put some new designs together.I cannot tell you guys how long I’ve wanted a slim perfume that fits perfectly into any bag, be it a backpack or a clutch, and not take up a ridiculous amount of room. This Pure Blush perfume is what I’ve been looking for, but could never find it for myself, again Santa, you’re amazing. Plus it smells so pretty and lightly floral, it’s a definite favourite scent of mine. And finally, something I never would’ve picked up for myself, but I actually love it quite a bit. This St Tropez body lotion is tinted, but washes out, so if you’re going on a night out, but don’t have time/don’t want to commit to a spray tan or a sun bed, this is perfect for you! It gives you an all over glow and is actually really moisturising! I can’t believe how much I’ve grown to enjoy it!
I was so excited to get involved with this secret santa, and the whole experience really was so exciting and fun, I can’t wait for next year to participate in even more!
That’s it for what I got from my Lady Writes Secret Santa, you can check out her blog HERE, I’d like to quickly thank her again for hosting something so fun and exciting, and I’ll see you guys tomorrow for the last day of Blogmas!
IT’S CHRISTMAS EVE EVE!!! Can you guys believe it? Of course you can, it’s practically been Christmas on my blog for 23 days now.
Since we’re only 2 sleeps away, today I wanted show you guys what I’ll be wearing for Christmas this year!
Obviously we start out with PJs, so I’ll be rocking these rather festive joggers with an ordinary t-shirt. (Don’t want to overdo the Christmas cheer first thing in the morning do we?)Next we’re onto the epitome of Christmas day. Well, maybe not the epitome, but it’s certainly a massive part of it, the Christmas jumper! I’ve thrown mine on with one of my wardrobe staples, a black skater skirt, some thick black tights (it is still Winter after all!) my antler headband and black brogues. Now for many of us, the outfits stop there, hell, for some of us the outfits more realistically stop at the PJs, but I wanted to put together a ‘dressier’ option, for those of us that are attending any parties, just going out for the evening, or even if you just want to dress up for dinner with your family.
So for this look, I’ve kept my skater skirt, but added a sparkly halter neck crop top and swapped my tights and brogues, for the most sparkly heeled boots imaginable.Wouldn’t you agree? I adore these shoes but they are truly made for the festive season, and to be shown off at parties.
Those are my 3 outfits for Christmas day, let me know in the comments below what you’re up to on the big day, and if you’ll be dressing up or if you’ll be staying in your PJs all day long!
Hey guys! As Christmas is officially only A WEEK TODAY, today I’m joining forces with none other than Dorothy Perkins to share with you guys their Christmas sock collection! So starting out, this year, Dorothy Perkins have really gone all out with their cosy socks, even down to gift-ready packaging! These particular socks are now one of my all-time favourite socks, because of the adorable reindeer that sits on the side! They are also super fluffy, and light pink with white hearts. Perfect for wearing on Christmas morning! Also, Dorothy Perkins currently have a 3 for £6 sale on, meaning you can pick up 3 (or 6, or 9!) sets of the most gorgeously Christmassy socks available, just in time for the big day!
I went for a classic Santa/reindeer combo, an adorable pug present pair, and a less in-your-face pair, that just have an adorable little frill at the edges. I chose these too because they can see you right through the year! I love pairing socks like these with little boots or lace up shoes, so you can see the frills over the top.And finally, these socks, which to me, win the most adorable packaging of all time. I was drawn to these socks, because they are in a bauble style case, with a glitter bow and a star that says “Wish upon a star”. Do socks come in cuter packaging? I think not. And they’re dark blue with stars on, so it’s safe to say I am now set with cosy socks forever.Just kidding, there’s no such thing as too many fluffy socks.
That’s it for today’s post, thank you so much to Dorothy Perkins for working with me for this post! You can check out all of their Christmas deals HERE. Can you guys believe it’s only ONE WEEK until Christmas day?! Let me know how you’re counting down the final week in the comments!
WELCOME TO BLOGMAS DAY 16! Today I thought I’d take you guys through my favourite nail varnish shades for this time of year/the festive season in general. So here are my top picks for nails at Christmas time!Maybelline Colour Show | Let It Snow | This little duo kit is so perfect for this time of year, because you get a gorgeously festive red, and what may be one of the greatest inventions in the realm of nail varnishes: a snowy top coat. Of course you can switch up the base coat to whatever shade you like, but this top coat is amazing, turning your nails into a gorgeous snow flurry.Barry M | Gelly Nail Paint | I love these two shades in particular when it comes to this time of year, ‘Plum’ & ‘Watermelon’ because the dark green reminds me of Christmas trees, and the purple is so deep and gorgeous that I simply can’t resist it, do I need more of a reason to love it?! I find that this time of year is absolutely perfect for incorporating darker tones on your nails, which is a lot coming from me, because as I’ve mentioned before, I love light colours on my nails all year around.Rimmel | 60 Seconds Super Shine | I also love these three colours at this time of year, (well technically I adore ‘White Hot Love’ and ‘Lose Your Lingerie’ all year around) but I’ve recently discovered ‘Black Cherries’, and I’m so glad I decided to give it a go. It’s the deepest cherry red colour you can imagine, dries insanely quickly, while still remaining as pigmented as it appears in the bottle.Maybelline | Colour Show | I’ve mentioned this nail varnish in my previous favourites,as it’s perfect for this time of year, with it’s beautiful rose-gold tones and glitter! Just like the Rimmel 60 seconds varnish, this one dries quite quickly, and gives you a colour just like it’s presented in the bottle, none of that weaker toned rubbish that some glittery varnishes can give you.New Look | Pure Colour | Finally, I also really like this varnish for this time of year, because it’s a slightly different take on your average Christmas-themed nails. I usually like to go for a silver, but this varnish is a glistening black and gold combo, which I think is perfect for a slightly more sophisticated Christmas nail look, if you don’t want to go for anything overly festive and outrageous.
That’s it for my Christmas themed nail polishes, let me know if you’ve tried any of these out before, or if you’ve got a go-to Christmas nail polish that you’re currently wearing!
it’s the 14th of December, what? I can’t believe how fast this countdown to Christmas is going, and that in 10 days it’ll be Christmas eve!
So for my final Christmas decor-themed post, I thought I’d show you guys a really quick and super easy DIY that I found online, that you can display in any room of your choice! This DIY is so quick and simple, that anybody could give it a go and it’ll look cool. All you need is some paper/card, decorative wire, and a branch!
Simply start out by cutting different sized stars out of your paper/card, and poke the wire through one of the points of the stars. I used Christmas decor wire, which had these tiny silver stars attached, so that each individual star had its own smaller silver star keeping it on the branch.
Then all you have to do is wrap the wire around a place on the branch, so that your stars hangs nicely. And that is all you have to do! I’ve obviously got my fairy lights on this side of the room, so the branch looks even more festive placed just in front of them. I really enjoyed making this, as it’s so simple but it looks really cute in your room!
Let me know if you’re going to give this DIY a go, or if you’ve taken inspiration from any other Christmas-themed DIYs, I’d love to see what you’ve made for the festive season!
Can you guys believe that the first week of Blogmas is officially over?! I can’t believe how fast this month is going by, so without further introduction, let’s kick off week two with my top 4 Christmas movies!
This movie really is a no-brainer when it comes to Christmas time. It’s got everything and every one you could possibly need, wrapped up in one funny, heart warming, family movie. Will Ferrell makes it so much more than just your average Christmas movie for kids, so it’s not a movie that parents will begrudgingly watch because their kids want to.
My brother assured me that this is a Christmas film. And low and behold, roughly 5 minutes into the movie, there’s a Christmas tree and someone wishes everyone a “Merry Christmas.” So there ya go. Not your average Christmas movie list after all. (I’ve added a rather festive-Corinne to this picture just in case you didn’t quite get the full Christmas effect from this still from while I was experiencing this movie.)
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
My favourite Christmas movie of all time. Perhaps even one of my favourite movies of all time. I’ve always been a sucker for Jim Carrey, he’s an astounding actor, and so naturally funny and charismatic. This story is such a perfect one for the holidays because it’s got a little bit of everything, it’s incredibly heartfelt while still remaining funny.
The Muppets Christmas Carol
This movie is another classic for this time of year. Almost every family will have a cosy evening while watching this sometime before Christmas. I love that it brings a traditional Christmas story to younger audiences that might not have otherwise heard it.
Those are my top 4 Christmas movies! Let me know what your top Christmas movies are in the comments below!
Now that Blogmas has officially begun, we can start talking about all things Christmassy! For the next 23 days, I’ll be sharing with you guys every little detail of Christmas, from gift sets, to recipes, hauls and makeup looks. But to start everything out, we need to get into the festive spirit, and what better way to do so, than Christmas tree shopping!I think it’s best to enter into Christmas tree shopping with an open mind, and a slight idea of what you would like/what is sensible for the area you are decorating.
Plus, the whole thing is made so much easier and fun if you really get into the spirit. Sit down, have a hot chocolate, and take your time! This is the time for good cheer and spreading happiness, not stress!Once you’ve successfully chosen your tree, and found a way to transport it home, the next task is decorating it. As you can see here, this little snowman was lovingly placed by Milo on the tree, so even though he isn’t sat upright, he was placed with care and will be staying there. Our tree never really has any particular theme, it’s a wonderful mishmash of all of the baubles we’ve both made and collected over the years, and tinsel of every available colour. While the trees in the conservatory and my room may have quite strict colour schemes, I think it’s nice to have the main tree to reflect the fun and diversity of life.I hope this post has gotten you into the Christmassy mood! Let me know in the comments if it has, and if you’ve put your tree up yet, or if you’re waiting to do so.
